I was lucky enough to still have three grandparents well into my late thirties.
Mum’s dad lived the nearest and I made sure I saw him pretty regularly.
I was very fond of him. Full of fun and he liked a pint!
But I’d often call him and not get an answer. Either he didn’t hear the phone or couldn’t get there quick enough.
I noticed this when visiting him one time and thought ” I’ll sort this out”.
So I got him a new cordless phone and he was good to go.
Or so I thought…. Nothing changed so next time I was there I asked him how he was doing with the phone.
“I’d sooner pick a fucking snake up” he bit back.
Classic Grandad move. Still makes me smile.
That stubborn attitude reminds me of most marketers.They’d rather wrestle a snake than learn actual money-making skills.
